Welcome to the Neighborhood!

We’re excited to announce our name change to Neighborhood Bicycle Shop! Same ownership, same location, same service, just a new identity that we feel embodies the spirit of our shop culture.

Chad and Sarah acquired the shop back in December of 2015. At the time, it had been Al’s Bicycles Norman since 1994, and we wanted to keep the name the community was accustomed to for the past 21 years. With a passion to provide and work with quality products, we brought in Cannondale as our main brand and slowly turned the shop into our own.

The idea for Neighborhood came from Ryan Hulseberg, co-creative behind most of our launches, and was inspired by Chad’s recent obsession with Mr. Rogers “Won’t you be my Neighbor?”

Neighborhood is defined spatially as a specific geographic area and functionally as a set of social networks. Neighborhoods are the spatial units in which face-to-face social interactions occur. They are the personal settings where residents seek to realize common values and socialize youth.

Nothing really feels like a better embodiment of why we do what we do.

Welcome to the Neighborhood!
