Taos Adventure
Back in August 2017, we set out for Taos, New Mexico with two missions: to photograph our Grafitti kit + new skinsuit, and launch our first Adventure Series. Because what are people commonly looking for when they throw their leg over their saddle? An adventure. Near to home or far, the bike gives us an opportunity to explore, escape and embrace.
We drove, bikes in tow, stayed, explored the local riding plus attractions, and wrote up a brief guide of sorts for your next adventure. Book at least 2-3 days plus travel.
Where to ride
For some sick cyclocross or a short mountain bike loop head to the West Rim Rio Grande Gorge Trail. For road riding, The Enchanted Circle. And an epic MTB day trip, The Southboundary Trail.
Where to stay
The Montoya St Casita on Airbnb, Downtown Taos. You’re walking distance to the plaza and it’s easy to get in and out of town. Where to eat: Toribio’s Tacos, Taos Cow in Arroyo Seco for ice cream! And stock the fridge at the Airbnb because there is a full kitchen. You’ll want to enjoy the private patio. Where to grocery shop: Cid’s Food Market.
Places to go
Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, John Dunn Bridge, and hot springs, and the Earthship Dwellings.
Graffiti Skinsuit
Inspiration for these kit designs was multifaceted: an ode to Rad, a love affair with mid-80s skater/freestyle aesthetic, a reference to NYC street graffiti, and a sampling of our youth, embedded in mid-90s in-your-face, I-do-what-I-want punk.
